Planetside 2 has long supported joystick support, BUT NOT, controller support! however, it does support joystick plus mouse support which allows this system to work. In order for this to work you must open steam big picture mode, then open controller settings for planetside 2 by default the left stick is bound to WASD. there is a drop down menu that will allow you to bind it to Joystick. this must be done before launching the game once the game is launched go into your keybinds in the actual planetside 2 games. In that section, there is an area dedicated to "Joystick" this is where you bind the various "Joystick" movement directions, and you can do it between aircraft on foot and on land craft, where its particularly useful there is also still digital keybinds for everything else unaltered
